Accessing your Online Self-Assessment and PDP without throwing a clot...

Picture
First of all, you need your user identification number from that infamous "yellow card".  If you don't have it or can't find it, you can get this number from going to the PCS website, clicking on "Staff" and then "Check my CEU Credits".  From there, click "Click here to check...", and you will be at a purpley-blue place.  Click on the words "Lookup my CEUs/UID", then enter your SSN.  When you do, your UID should show up in bold font

Once you have this number, you'll go to
https://mxweb.media-x.com/home/ncval.  Most people's passwords did not work properly, so you'll have to click on the "Lost Password?" button and get them to e-mail you another one.  Once you are in, click on the 4square image (under "Products".  Under "Observe/Report", you have the options of New Self-Assessment or New Preliminary PDP.

Here are some things I figured out about doing these bad boys:
                    1.  Under Self-Assessment status (top right section), you have to make up a date (you need to click on that little calendar icon) and time (using drop down arrows) before it will let you check those 2 boxes.
                    2.  Under Teacher Status, the year means which year you are in relative to your
current renewal cycle.
                    3
.  The Save button is at the top and looks like a rainbow disc (with all my favorite colors, I might add).
                    4.  For the PDP, you cannot type in Section A.  Type your PDP info into Section B, choosing at least 2 goals.
                    5.  "Goals for Elements" refers to the standard that you want to focus on (such as Standard 4c "Teachers use a variety of instructional methods".

One more thing... if you have gone in there and worked on a self-assessment and/or a PDP, you can get back to it by clicking on Observe/Report and clicking on "Observations".  In the words of Seinfeld, "Good luck with all that."
